Reaping the Rewards

I've decided that as a little extra encouragement during our Weight loss challenge at work I'd give myself a little "prize" for each 5lbs I lose.

The first is a mothers necklace. I've been wanting one of these since before Molly was born and I found one I really like on Etsy so there's no stoppin' me now!

The second is a new cover for my bible. I don't have a cover at all right now and my bible is a shabby one from a class I took in college (i love it, no judgements!) so this would definitely make me less embarrassed by the state of my bible.

I've had this spa finder gift card for over a year and never used it. (It's probably expired by now) So a much needed massage will be one of my "5 lb prizes".

Wednesday Weigh In

Well this week I'm back on the wagon. I didn't follow any of my own advice from the last Wednesday Weigh In post and gained a few lbs after the holidays. But we've started a challenge at work and now here I am back in the saddle. This week's favorites are...

The ore-ida Steam and mash potatoes. They simply steam in the bag for like 10 min. and then you can pop them into any recipe that calls for cooked potatoes. I used them mostly for mashed potatoes but I think they'd work in a pot pie or stew too.

These little blueberry thingys are great. I got them at Costco and they're only 3 WW points so YAY! They taste like real food not diet food so that makes me happy!

The Bush's Grillin Beans are AWESOME! They're the only ones I've found that taste anything like the ones from Chili's so they're a winner in my book. You can eat them by themselves or in any recipe that calls for black beans.

Recipe for the Week

Instructions

  • Place potatoes and garlic in a large saucepan; pour in enough water to cover potatoes. Set pan over high heat and bring to a boil; boil until potatoes are fork-tender, about 8 minutes.

  • Drain potatoes and garlic; transfer potatoes and garlic to a large bowl. Add yogurt and sugar to bowl; mash until smooth. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Yields about 1/2 cup per serving.

Stats for this Week
(feel free to leave yours in the comments section if you want to have another source of accountablilty)
lost this week: 0 lb
total loss in 11 weeks: 0 lbs
Lbs left til Pre-Molly Weight: 13
Lbs left til goal Weight: 20
NSV (non scale victory): Startin' over fresh and clean this week!
Looking forward to in the Week to Come: I've set up a reward for every 5 lbs I loose and I'm really excited about getting the first "prize"!

Molly Mozart

I'd seen an article via Pinterest about iphone apps for babys. I thought oh there's no way that she'd be into any of these but I had Rustin download the baby piano app. anyway and SHE LOVES IT!

Thank yous

I'm a thank you card writer. That's just how my momma raised us. With that being said I HATE WRITING THANK YOU NOTES! So for Christmas I had these great post cards made at Wal-Mart.
FRONT

I thought the picture was a sweet idea and made them personal. They probably cost about the same as buying a package of blank thank you cards, 84 cents each.

So I actually got them into the mail this year in a timely manner because I made them fill in the blank. I know that may seem a little tacky but in my mind it's better than not sending them at all. I'll definately be sending this style of thank you note until Molly is old enough to write her own.

Roll On!

Molly does this quite often now but this is the first time I've gotten it on tape. Please ignore my commentary.
