Weigh In Wednesday

This week was a tough one with going back to work and all but here are the favorites & the finds for this week:

V8 Fusion light. Before I got oh so veggie happy I had to find a way to get more into my daily life. So I started drinking V8 Fusion Light Strawberry Banana. I've had the blueberry too and it's great. But the best thing about these are that they now come in 8 oz cans. 1 WW point each!!! So easy to grab and go.

I really like peanut butter with my apples but hate having to measure it out and find a way to transport it in my lunch box. So these are a def. hit! I just use one tub for two days of lunch time apples.

I guess this is a little more of a what I'm lookin' for but Crockpot has come out with a lunch crock and I can't wait to find one!!!

These Smart-ones steamer meals are good in theory, just like the Lean Cuisine ones, however this particular "flavor" was not as yummy as I'd hoped for 10 POINTS!! Thea meatballs tasted good, but the sauce had a funky after taste and the cheese all stuck to the bag so it was like using points for food you weren't getting :( I guess I'd eat these again in a pinch but I think the LC ones or just a regular Smart-ones meal would be a better option.

Recipe for the Week
Asparagus in a foil pouch with EVOO, Mediterranean seasonings, and fat free feta cheese...AMAZING! The picture shows it with garden seasonings but I like the Mediterranean the best. You just pop it in the oven until they're soft.

Stats for this Week
(feel free to leave yours in the comments section if you want to have another source of accountablilty)

NSV (non scale victory): Drove right past the yummy breakfast drive through everyday on the way to work this week! AND passed on the teacher buffet provided by PTA and ate my planned meal instead.

Month 4

Molly,
This month you started to show so much of your personality, and I can't wait to see what month 4 has in store for us.

This month you are still wearing size 1 diapers, but we're getting close to moving up to size 2. You still love bath time and have figured out how to get your hands on that little duck. Most of your clothes are still 0-3 some of them are sung but the 3month clothes just look so big on you.

You really like your excersaucer now and its so fun to watch you play. You get rather frusterated at one of the toys. Daddy taught you where your nose and mouth are and now your constantly trying to grab our lips or nose. The doggies have gotten your attention alot lately and you really seem to like to pet Grace's ears. You really like going to see Ms. Kat at church. You started to roll over and I'm ashamed to admit it but the first time you did it you rolled right off the bed. You were perfectly fine, Mommy was the one that cried. You've started laughing out loud pretty regularly and you pass out smiles like crazy.

Most days you eat every 2 hours but some days it seems like you can't get enough. You've gotten really good at taking your pacci and putting it into your mouth. You're still sleeping through the night but the time change really through you for a loop. You sleep best when Mommy puts you straight into bed but some nights we fall asleep together in the big brown chair.

This month you met your Grandma & Grandpa Pepe. You also met lots of Mahans; Grandpa Mahan, Uncle Aubrey and Aunt Peggy & your cousins Kelsey and Hallie during Thanksgiving. You celebrated your first holidays (Halloween & Thanksgiving). On our visit to Dr. Lam last week you weighed 13lbs 7oz and measured 23 inches long.

This is going to be another Amazing month, I can't wait to see what your going to teach me. I love you Peepers!

Love,
Mommy

Parade PJs

I really wanted Molly to have a cute pair of Thanksgiving PJs to watch her first Macy's Day parade in. Only everywhere I went looking for a cute girly pair all they had were plain boyish ones. So I ran to Hancocks and bought some fabric.

Then I used this tutorial that I found on Pinterest.

And here's the finished product.

I can't wait to see her on Thursday morning!

Weigh In Wednesday

With Thanksgiving only a day away I thought I'd post some of my favorties for helping me stay on track through this Food focused Holiday.

Weight Watchers Magazine is one of my favorites. I've had a subscription for years and every time I get a new one in the mail I go and pull out past issues. So sitting on my coffee table is the Nov/Dec issues from 2008-current. I know that things have changed since 2008 but some of the tips are still applicable and it never hurts to have as much support as possible during this time of the year.

For tomorrow I'm so thankful to have these wonderful little things. I bought them a few years ago and use them around the house when we're having soups, and stews or rice. But they're going to be such a lifesaver tomorrow for all those mashed potatoes, and gravy. The best part is that no one will notice that they're measuring spoons. The handle says 1/2C or 1/4C but they look like regular serving spoons.

The thing I love about this food scale is that you can lay the entire plate on it and then zero it out so when you add your turkey it'll only weigh out the turkey. You may think that's really silly to worry about measuring & weighing EVERYTHING but I've found that I overeat on a regular basis so adding the excuse of it's a holiday just makes me stuff myself.

Last year I ran the Thundercloud Turkey Trot before we went to lunch at my parents. This year I'd hoped to participate again but in all honesty I dont think I'm fast enough to do the 5 miles and push Molly in the stroller after making the drive all the way downtown and back. So instead (after watching some of the parade) I'm going to put on the T-Shirt I got last year and "trot" around our neighborhood.

Recipe for the Week
Sounds really simple but it's awesome!! And easy. Take a container of fat free vanilla yogurt top with 1/4C of Anderson Trail Moist Granola and 1/4C of frozen blueberries. It's light, tasty, and filling! You can layer it and make it look all pretty too if you'd like.

The Thanksgiving Spirit

This past Sunday Molly and I got up early and made a little Thanksgiving treat for her Sunday School teachers. It was a really simple Trail Mix with raisins, red/orange/yellow M&Ms, CheezeIts, and pretzles.
Then I made a quick topper using orange card stock and Thanksgiving stickers. I wrote a quick note to each teacher letting them know what a blessing they are to our family. Molly and Ms. Kat

Wednesday Weigh In

The award for weight loss favorites for week 7 are, drum roll please ....

I read that oatmeal is "AMAZING" for helping keep milk supply up (sorry TMI) so I've been eating this every morning. SUPER yummy, and filling.

This milk tastes great and has 12g of protein. 12g!! Can you believe it. Plus it's one less WW point for a cup so that's a bonus!

And I'm super excited that they've taken the only almonds I like (the kind with Sea Salt, thanks to a former student) and put them into 100 calorie packs! Now and I can grab them and go.

One thing I tried this week for the first time was the WW string cheese. It's one point less than other Lite String cheese. Let me tell you, it's worth the other point. These are not so yummy! VERY rubbery. Dispointing but love most of the other WW products.

Recipe for the Week
Why should bananas get to have all the fun???
Toast a bagelthin (i like plain) top with 1T peanut butter. (It doesn't sound like alot but it's more than enough.) Top each half with a sliced strawberry. OMG it's awesome!!! And only 5 WW points

Stats for this Week

Run Ashley Run

This past weekend my sister in law Ashley competed in the UIL Cross Country meet out at Old Settlers Park. It was neat to be out there because I don't think I've been there since I was a Senior in High School. We parked and decided not to take the shuttle because we had Molly's stroller, so we walked it. I don't know if you've ever been "off-roading" with a baby in a stroller but it's not fun, especially in tornadic winds. Anyway there were so many schools out there it was crazy!

We got to spend time with family and watch the races. We even got to enjoy the awards ceremony where Ashley's team took 3rd place!!!

We're so proud of her. She's really taken a leadership role on the team, building the confidence of her teammates and pushing them to do thier best which is awesome especially since she's a freshman.

Baby Fat Be Gone~ Wednesday Weigh In

So here are a few things that have been getting me back on my Weight Watchers path this week. I've been on this path for 12 years, proof that WW is a lifestyle change and not a "diet". Either way here are my favorites for the week.

holy crap it really tastes like cake! This is goin' in my "Homemade Grown Up-Fat Kid Lunchable" with a bagel thin turkey sandwich, apples slices and fat free sour cream and onion pringles.

I wish I'd had these when I was pregnant. Sometimes you just get thirsty for a margarita and now it's only 5 calories and I can choose to add a shot (and points) if I want.

I got really into orange soda while I was pregnant. So glad they have one now that tastes decent

And I use fat free feta for EVERYTHING! I really like it mixed with whole wheat pasta, sliced grapes, 1 tsp of olive oil and medditeranian seasonings.

And if you know anything about me you know that veggies and I are not the best of friends, but I've really made an effort lately to try new recipes (thank you pinterest) so that I won't be the only adult in the world that doesnt eat broccoli.
This recipe is super easy and YUMMY! Believe me I wouldn't say that if it wasnt true.

On a foil lined cookie sheet place broccoli crowns. Drizzle with EVOO, salt and pepper & minced garlic. Bake at 425 for 25 min. When it comes out drizzle with more EVOO, lemon juice, and shredded parmesan cheese.

Stats for this Week
lost this week: 1
total loss in 6 weeks: 7 lbs
Lbs left til Pre-Molly Weight: 13
NSV (non scale victory): Decided to eat fruit instead of french fries for dinner and then passed up pie for grapes as a late night snack. Plus I tried a new carrot recipe and even though I didnt care for it I still tried em.
What I'm looking forward to next week: Trying a new kettlebell workout. I had to let my crossfit membership go until I start getting a paycheck again. This week's been mostly mommy/baby workouts; sit ups and push ups, pushing the stroller on our walks & housework.

Model Molly

Friday Molly had a photo shoot with Brandie Kennedy. She did an amazing job snapping away for more than an hour and was so willing to take whatever silly picture I wanted, hence the pumpkin. I'll def. be using Brandie again for her 6 & 9 & 12 month photos. She even does small sessions for holidays. Here's our sneak peek!

All Hallows Eve

Last night Molly got all dressed up in her costume

and before she went out trick or treating her Nana, and her Mimi & Papa stopped by to say hi. Then while Rustin made Hallo-ritas for everyone Molly & I went to "Trick-or-Treat" at Miss Stephanie's, Miss Amy's & Mr. Brent & Miss Karen's houses.

When we got back we hung out with the neighbors and passed out our candy. We almost forgot to put our Jack-O-Lantern out on the porch!
