Weigh In Wednesday

With Thanksgiving only a day away I thought I'd post some of my favorties for helping me stay on track through this Food focused Holiday.

Weight Watchers Magazine is one of my favorites. I've had a subscription for years and every time I get a new one in the mail I go and pull out past issues. So sitting on my coffee table is the Nov/Dec issues from 2008-current. I know that things have changed since 2008 but some of the tips are still applicable and it never hurts to have as much support as possible during this time of the year.

For tomorrow I'm so thankful to have these wonderful little things. I bought them a few years ago and use them around the house when we're having soups, and stews or rice. But they're going to be such a lifesaver tomorrow for all those mashed potatoes, and gravy. The best part is that no one will notice that they're measuring spoons. The handle says 1/2C or 1/4C but they look like regular serving spoons.

The thing I love about this food scale is that you can lay the entire plate on it and then zero it out so when you add your turkey it'll only weigh out the turkey. You may think that's really silly to worry about measuring & weighing EVERYTHING but I've found that I overeat on a regular basis so adding the excuse of it's a holiday just makes me stuff myself.

Last year I ran the Thundercloud Turkey Trot before we went to lunch at my parents. This year I'd hoped to participate again but in all honesty I dont think I'm fast enough to do the 5 miles and push Molly in the stroller after making the drive all the way downtown and back. So instead (after watching some of the parade) I'm going to put on the T-Shirt I got last year and "trot" around our neighborhood.

Recipe for the Week
Sounds really simple but it's awesome!! And easy. Take a container of fat free vanilla yogurt top with 1/4C of Anderson Trail Moist Granola and 1/4C of frozen blueberries. It's light, tasty, and filling! You can layer it and make it look all pretty too if you'd like.

Stats for this Week
(feel free to leave yours in the comments section if you want to have another source of accountablilty)
lost this week: 1 and some change
total loss in 8 weeks:8 lbs
Lbs left til Pre-Molly Weight: 12
NSV (non scale victory): Made a plan for Thanksgiving so I could make it through 3 dinners without it showing on the scale!
What I'm looking forward to next week: Still hunting for the new WW freshmeals in the deli case at the grocery store. If you've found 'em please share where!!!
