Spring has Sprung

Here's a few shots from our impromptu photo shoot today. She wouldn't look at me because of all the cars going by but she was really into the flowers (she mostly wanted to eat them). Hopefully I'll get some better ones when we go for our family ones.

Let's Rodeo

Today we met Jenny and McCall at the rodeo. It was completely different than any of the past years at the rodeo. Usually Rustin and I go to the BBQ Cookoff (which is really just an excuse to eat brisket & drink beer)then head over to the arena for the Bull Riding and the concert. This time there was no beer or bar-b-que just strollers & the petting zoo. It was AWESOME!

We saw pigs, cows, baby chicks & a new baby lamb. Molly even reached out to pet the pony.

Spring Fever

This spring break has gone by so quickly. I do feel like I've gotten alot done, but I've been avoiding this

So instead of ironing I put up our photo wall. I've been wating to get this done for a while now but haven't had a chance.

All the frames are either ones we already had or from the Dollar Tree. I had Wal-Mart print the pictures then got them into the frames. I'd looked at several layouts on Pinterest but finally just had to start laying them out on the floor to see how they'd fit togther.

Here's the final project.

Wednesday Weigh In

Favorites for this week are....

These little marshmallows are awesome! They give just the sweet you need in something like a trail mix or in SF hot cocoa. Don't expect them to be soft though, they're more like the marshmallows in a bowl of Lucky Charms.

7 of these babies for only 5 points. I was worried at first that since they are gluten free that they'd taste gross but oh no they rock!

My new jogging stroller is a favorite this week & here's the app I've been using to help keep me on track.

Last but not least are the shells & cheese. They're 5 points but I've been eating half of the serving with the fabulous little nuggets for lunch & it makes it feel like a real meal. Even if it looks like the plate belongs to a 4 year old.

Recipe of the Week
Glitter Grapes
1 pound of seedless grapes, pulled from the stems and rinsed
1 3-oz. package Sugar Free gelatin, flavor of your choice (NOT prepared)
Water

Spread the jello mix on a plate, about 1/4 at a time. Rinse the grapes under water, and place a handful on the plate. Shake the plate gently to roll the grapes in the gelatin, coating the grapes. Place coated grapes into a bowl. Repeat until all of the grapes are covered. Place the bowl and let set in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, until the gelatin is set.

I found this online (through Miss Heather) but I remember making these in the past and they were awesome and still are!!!

Stats for this Week
lost this week: 2 lb
total loss since Molly was born:42 lbs here's a list of things that weigh 42lbs
Lbs left til Pre-Molly Weight: 8

They make it Look So Easy

You know who I'm talking about, those ladies running down the street pushing their kid in a jogging stroller. They're not sweating, they have perfect hair & make up. Their outfit looks like it walked off the pages of a fitness magazine & to top it all off they're talking on the phone & pushing the stroller with ONE hand.

I am NOT one of those ladies.

This Saturday morning for no reason I checked Craigslist for garage sales with jogging strollers. There was one right around the corner from us and they had 2 strollers to choose from for $40 each. After I finally found the garage sale (the post failed to mention the address & they didn't post any signs-made it kinda hard to find) I hauled my fabulous purchase home.

I got it cleaned up & it took me about 15 minutes (with the help of my sweet neighbor Stephanie) to get Molly strapped in. Only to find out that all three tires were in badly need of air. So we post-poned our madien jog until Sunday.

Sunday afternoon I geared up with my fancy filtered water bottle, my new performance socks & and an old ADPi t-shirt (reason #1 that I am not one of "those" ladies) We took off at a pretty reasonable pace according to my awesome new app and that would be the first of many times I ran Molly right off the sidewalk. (REASON #2)This continued for about 25 more minutes. So I tried to use one hand thinking that might make it easier to steer. (reason #3) WRONG! In the end we both survivied but it was defintely a challenge. See play by play text message(during my multiple water breaks) to Miss Heather below.

Forgive the language. It was hard. Either way I hope if you were in one of the cars driving by and have ever thought about running w/ a stroller I hope I gave you a little bit of courage that you don't have to be one of "those" ladies to do it.

**UPDATE**
Apparently there was an issue with my alignment that was making it hard to steer. My fabulous hubby fixed it and the 2 mile run went much better on day 2! Still super hard workout though!
