RIP - Brown Couch

The time has come and we finally gave in and bought new living room couches. Thanks to Dixie, who ate one of the cushions, the well loved brown couch had to go. Which was easier said than done.

We really wanted to replace the couch with the exact same one but we knew that probably wouldn't happen. So we started our hunt. 6 stores later we had a couch and chair combo that we liked but no way to get it home. (Rustin's truck is still in the shop but that's a story for a different post)

Steve let us borrow his truck and we headed back to Garden Ridge. I know, not where you'd think to buy couches but they've got 'em. After some crazy ninja-mover moves Rustin managed to get them both up to the check out and into the truck.

Getting rid of the old brown couch proved to be more difficult than finding the new ones. Goodwill is apparently quite picky about the things they take now...who knew. After about two hours of driving around and trying to figure out what to do with it we found what seemed to be a perfect resting place for the brown couch. It looked like a graveyard for old furniture. It already contained a coffee table, office chair, kitchen table and desk so a couch was definitely a necessary addition. Needless to say the new couch and cuddler (fancy reclining love seat) have a new home in our living room, and the best brown couch in the world was properly disposed of. Plus now that the coffee table is stained the room is finally complete, YAY!
